Getting a haircut in Korean – Vocabulary and phrases

Knowing some basic vocabulary to use with your hairdresser not only is going to help you to get the hairstyle that you want but also it’ll give you the chance to practice your Korean in a real conversation.

So, how do you ask for a haircut in Korean ? The easiest way to ask for a layered haircut in Korean is by using one of the following phrases:

  • I want it layered. - 층지게 해 주세요. [ Cheungjige hae juseyo. ]
  • I want it layered. - 층을 내서 깎아 주세요. [ Cheungeul naeseo kkakka juseyo. ]
  • I want it layered. - 레이어를 줘서 깎아 주세요. [ Reieoreul jwoseo kkakka juseyo.]

Even though these phrases are very useful when asking for a haircut in Korean, they’re also very general. In order to get exactly the style you want, you’ll need to include some vocabulary to make your description better.
