Here is a list of body movements in Korean. These are useful for beginners learning the Korean language, as well as for intermediate level learners for improving their vocabulary.

There are many ways to describe body part movements in Korean. This list is perfect for learners to learn all the body movements.

Let’s look at the body movements :

  1. 머리 – Head
  2. 머리를 감다 – To wash one’s hair
  3. 머리를 자르다 – To cut hair
  4. 머리를 빗다 – To comb one’s hair
  5. 머리를 긁다 – To scratch one’s head
  6. 모자를 쓰다 – To wear a hat
  7. 고개 – Head and neck together is called 고개
  8. 고개를 숙이다 – To bow one’s head
  9. 고개를 들다 – To raise one’s head
  10. 물건을 들다 – To pick up things
  11. 고개를 끄덕이다 – To nod the head
  12. 고개를 흔들다 – To shake one’s head
  13. 얼굴 – Face
  14. 웃다 – To laugh
  15. 울다 – To cry
  16. 얼굴을 찡그리다 – To make a frown
  17. 얼굴이 빨개지다 – To blush
  18. 세수하다 – To wash
  19. 눈 – Eyes
  20. 보다 – To see
  21. 올려다보다 – To look up
  22. 내려다보다 – To look down
  23. 들여다보다 – To look in
  24. 훔쳐보다 – To peep ( 훔치다 is to steal + 보다 is to see )
  25. 눈을 비비다 – To rub one’s eyes
  26. 눈을 깜빡이다 – To blink one’s eyes
  27. 눈물을 흘리다 – To shed tears
  28. 눈물을 닦다 – To wipe one’s eyes
  29. 눈썹을 그리다  – To put eyeliner.
  30. 코 – Noes
  31. 콧물을 흘리다 – Runny nose
  32. 코를 풀다 – To blow nose
  33. 코를 닦다 – To clean your nose
  34. 코를 골다 – To snore
  35. 코딱지를 파다 – To dig nose
  36. 숨을 쉬다 / 숨쉬다 – To breathe
  37. 입 – Mouth
  38. 말하다 – To say
  39. 소리치다 /소리 지르다 – To yell
  40. 휘파람을  불다 – To whistle
  41. 먹다 – To eat
  42. 마시다 – To drink
  43. 토하다 – To vomit
  44. 트림하다 – To burp
  45. 하품하다 – To yawn
  46. 귀 – Ears
  47. 듣다 – To hear
  48. 귀를 기울이다 – To listen carefully
  49. 엿듣다 – To eavesdrop
  50. 귀를 파다 – To dig ear
  51. 목 – Neck
  52. 목을 돌리다 – To twist one’s neck
  53. 목을 풀다 – To warm up one’s throat
  54. 어깨 – Shoulder
  55. 어깨를 돌리다 – To turn shoulder
  56. 어깨에 메다 – To carry on one’s shoulder
  57. 가슴 – Chest
  58. 가슴을 펴다 – To puff out one’s chest
  59. 껴안다 / 포옹하다 – To hug
  60. 손 – Hand
  61. 박수치다 – To clap
  62. 손을 흔들다 – To wave your hand
  63. 가리키다 – To point out
  64. 장갑을 끼다 – To wear gloves
  65. 시계를 차다 – To wear a watch
  66. 악수하다 – To shake hands
  67. 던지다 – To throw
  68. 잡다 – To catch
  69. 주먹을 쥐다 – To clench a fist
  70. 주먹을 펴다 – To open your fist
  71. 손을 잡다 – To hold hand
  72. 손을 들다 – To raise hand
  73. 손을 주머니에 넣다 – To put one’s hand in one’s pocket
  74. 손을 씻다 – To wash your hands
  75. 다리 – Leg
  76. 앉다 – To sit
  77. 일어서다 – To stand up
  78. 무릎을 꿇다 – To kneel down
  79. 걷다 – To walk
  80. 뛰다 /달리다 – To run
  81. 다리를 벌리다 – To spread legs
  82. 무릎을 구부리다 – To bend one’s knees
  83. 치마를 입다 – To wear skirt
  84. 바지를 벗다 – To take off your pants
  85. 발 – Foot
  86. 차다 – To kick
  87. 신발을 신다 – To put on shoes
  88. 양말을 벗다 – To take off socks
  89. 까치발을 하다 / 발끝으로 서다 – To stand on tiptoe
  90. 몸 – Body
  91. 춤을 추다 – To dance
  92. 눕다 – To lie down
  93. 엎드리다 – To lie face down
