Today we'll be looking at the usage of "Noun 같이" Korean grammar pattern with few examples.
Usage :
This grammar pattern Noun+같이 is equivalent to the phrase 'like something or someone". For example, if you want to say, "I want to become like mom", Then you can say "엄마같이 되고 싶어요". You can also say this sentence as "엄마처럼 되고 싶어요" as Noun+같이 usage is similar to Noun+처럼.
Conjugation rule :
You simply need to add 같이 after the Noun.
Lets see some examples to understand the usage.
1) Don't act like a child.
어린애같이 행동하지 마요.
2) Our cat behaves like a human.
우리 고양이가 사람같이 행동해요.
3) She speaks Korean like a native speaker.
그녀는 한국어를 원어민같이 해요.
4) I don't want to look foolish.
바보같이 보이고 싶지 않아요.
5) Will I be able to cook as good as Miss Yeobin?
저도 여빈 씨같이 요리를 잘 할 수 있을까요?
6) She wants to become a performer like me.
그녀도 나 같이 연기자가 되고 싶어해요.
7) Be as careful as a cat.
고양이같이 조심하세요.
IMPORTANT:
같이 also means 'together/with' so it's important to not mix the two meanings. Generally when 같이 is used in the sense of 'together/with', 와/과/하고 come before it.
Ex: 그 사람과 같이 놀지 마. Don't hang out with that person.
