Today, we’ll look at how to form sentences using the Korean grammar pattern “V ~게 하다”, along with some example sentences.
It is used when the speaker “makes” or “lets” someone perform an action.
Like many similar and confusing grammar patterns in Korean, ~게 하다 can mean either to make someone do something or to let someone do something, depending on the context.
In simple words, it is used when someone or something causes or influences a person to do an action.
Example :
- 나는 그를 시장에 가게 했다.
I made him go to the market.
- 나는 학생들에게 공부하게 했다
I made the students study.

Rule to conjugate :
After removing 다 from the root verb add ~게 하다 after the stem verb.
- 사다 - 사게 하다
- 가다 - 가게 하다
- 먹다 - 먹게 하다
- 주다 - 주게 하다
- 공부하다 - 공부하게 하다
- 만들다 - 만들게 하다
- 말하다 - 말하게 하다
If used in the past tense, 하다 will change to 했다~
- 사게 했다
- 가게 했다
- 먹게 했다
- 주게 했다
- 공부하게 했다
- 만들게 했다
- 말하게 했다

1) 남을 속여서 엉터리 물건을 사게 하다.
I tricked others into buying a crappy item.
2) 나는 그를 나와 함께 대학에 가게 했다.
I made him go to university with me.
3) 싫어하는 채소를 다 먹게 했어요.
I made her eat all the vegetables she hated.
4) 선생님은 학생들에게 헌 옷을 주게 했다.
The teacher made the students give away their old clothes..
5) 나는 그에게 한국어 공부하게 했다
I made him study Korean.
6) 나는 그 시험을 보게 했다
I made him take that test.
7) 내가 그걸 먹게 했어.
I made him eat that
8) I made her speak louder.
더 크게 말하게 했다.
9) 나는 그를 같이 식당에 가게 했다.
I made him go to the restaurant with me.
