Who this course is for
- Beginners preparing for TOPIK I, at Level 1 or Level 2.
- Learners who have studied some Korean but never learned the grammar in a clear order.
- Anyone who wants to practise each pattern, not only read about it.
About this course
TOPIK I tests a defined set of beginner grammar. This course teaches it in one place and in an order a beginner can follow. It starts with numbers, counters and question words, and it ends with honorifics and the irregular verbs.
The patterns are grouped by what they do. One part covers the Korean sentence: to be, politeness, tenses and negation. Another part covers the particles. Later parts cover joining two clauses, giving a reason or a condition, saying what you can or must do, talking about wishes and plans, and guessing or reporting what someone said. Patterns that do the same job are taught close together, so you can see how they differ.
Every grammar lesson follows the same steps. It shows how the pattern is formed with an interactive form builder: you tap a word and see its correct Korean form. It then explains the meaning and the rules for using the pattern. You read at least five example sentences, see two common errors corrected in a Mistake Clinic, learn how TOPIK tests the pattern, and compare it with similar patterns.
You practise in every lesson, not only at the end. Each grammar lesson has five scored practice questions with instant feedback. It ends with a four-question exit check that you can try again until you get it right. Each of the 35 chapters also ends with a review, and the reviews together contain 363 more questions with answers.
The course opens with a short Start Here section. It explains how TOPIK I is built, covers verb stems and 받침, helps you choose a study path, and gives you a Pattern Finder for looking up any pattern in seconds. It closes with a Revision Toolkit that ranks the patterns by priority, compares the confusing pairs and groups every pattern by function.
