Learn Korean from Scratch - Level 1A
The curriculum of this course has been systematically designed to help you learn Korean language in the most effective and efficient way possible.
This course is very different from the typical Korean lessons on YouTube and some websites that make you memorize random Korean phrases about different situations and make you believe that you are learning the language.
Memorizing words and phrases like a parrot is not what language learning is.
Learning a language means to understand how a language works and to be able to express your thoughts by framing your own sentences.
And that is what we will learn in this course.

Is this course Right for me?
This course is for absolute beginners. So it's the right fit for you if you don't know anything at all about Korean language or if you have just learned how to read and write Hangeul letters but don't know how words and sentences are made in Korean. The course will be useful for you if -
Who can take this course?
I know language learning is difficult
If anyone is promising you that they will make you learn a language without any serious studying and just by doing some fun activities or memorizing phrases, they have either never learned a language themselves or they are just lying. This course doesn't promise that you will learn Korean without studying. We don't even try extra hard to make our language lessons 'funny'. Our lessons may be dry (as any type of learning is, at times) and you will have to put in some time and effort to get the best results out of the course.
Many Korean language instructors have very good knowledge of Korean language but they don't know how to teach things in a systematic order. It's either because they themselves didn't learn the language in a systematic way or because they don't know how to teach a foreign language effectively. And that's the reason most of the learners are not able to go beyond the first few lessons. Most just give up at the alphabet itself because either the teacher is not able to explain the pronunciation rules properly or they teach so many rules that the students feel overwhelmed.
This course has been designed by an expert who himself has not only learned Korean from scratch and achieved near native level fluency but also did formal study and research on how to teach Korean as a foreign language. This course uses tried and tested methods to teach you the concepts of Korean language. Yes, you will have to put in more effort than when learning through random YouTube videos but you will never feel that you are not able to understand something at any point in the course.

I am Satish Satyarthi. I also started learning Korean like you in 2007. With time, my interest in Korean language, linguistics and literature grew more and more and now I have 3 degrees in Korean language - Bachelors, Masters and M.Phil.
I am also the founder of the TOPIK GUIDE website. I have been involved in Korean language teaching and research for more than 10 years. I love helping people learn Korean in an easy and efficient way. My Masters degree major at Seoul National University was 'Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language (외국어로서의 한국어교육)'. In last 10 years, I have taught Korean to people from all over the world through online classes as well as in language classrooms. I am super excited to help you in your Korean language learning journey.
Money shouldn't be a barrier to learning a beautiful language like Korean.
That's why we haven't put a price tag on the course.
You can pay the price that you want.
PAY WHAT YOU WANT
Why not just offer the course for free?
In fact, we wanted to offer the course for free so badly, but from our experience of teaching online for years, we have learned that people don't put in time and effort if they get a course for free. All of us have, at some point, have signed up for free courses but we rarely finish them. On the other hand, if we pay for a course (even if it is a very low amount) we are a little bit more likely to finish it. That's why we are experimenting with the 'pay what you want' pricing. If we feel it's not working for learners, we may remove it later and offer the course just for free.
